„STATION ROSE‘s first solo exhibition after having reached their Digital Quarter Century in 2013 at GRAF&ZYX Tank.

Having lived abroad for 20 years, mainly in Frankfurt, where the artists witnessed turbo-capitalism and the financial crisis first hand, they have now been focusing on a minimalist aesthetics of digital art since 2008, where materiality, e.g. in form of media sculptures, has room besides the digital.

During the performances - STR played live at the opening - the white cube acts as a sound and light room, as a projection screen, as well as a classic exhibition space.

Layers of pixels re-materialize on wood & fabric.

When acting in concert, their images expand and contract to fill their containers; architectures in close proximity to printed wall works ex- poses the pattern within the variability of their production. STR uses recycling, wood, fabric, metal, guitar and iPads. Sound makes use of trusted structures from techno, psychedelic and minimal. Fabrics interweave with the AV performance, with sound and pixel-anis. The transformation of DIGITAL ART into materialization, into space - termed “re-materialization” by STR – represents an important moment in their contemporary art using pixels, sound, wood, plants and fabrics.
