"The tools of the visual arts are media: printers, computers and printing correspond to screen printing or linocut in earlier times." (Elisa Rose)
The radio piece "New Circumstances" is a composition by a multimedia "art station", the "Station Rose", which is being realized by the two multimedia artists Gary Danner and Elisa Rose from Upper Austria in the all-white rooms of a former fur shop in Vienna's fourth district. The displays were used as exhibition space for constantly changing objects, the sales room as a museum and the room on the first floor for aa multimedia installation. A fourth room was planned as the "Rose" office, the task of which was to establish international contacts and to handle the planning and implementation of the project.
For both artists, ideas such as the desire for a complete work of art, the tendency towards conceptual art and terms such as "art autonomy" are the focus of their work. The computer disk has a central function: largely dematerialized storage medium for the material of many art genres (texts, sounds, noises and images) and the possibility of not having to let all artistic ideas flow into a material art production.
Gary Danner himself describes the radio piece "Neue Circumstances" as a "commercial": like a classic commercial, it contains a melody, a slogan and a dramaturgical structure.
