At SPARK Art Fair 2025, STATION ROSE presented a lecture and installed Electronic Habitat: Borderhack 2.0, a new version of their original work webcast 148 – Borderhack, which was streamed live from the STATION ROSE studio in Frankfurt in July 2001.

This re-enacted edition has been updated with Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence, now experienced through Artivive. The piece bridges early internet art and contemporary immersive technology—reviving a pioneering digital performance as a live, evolving artwork.

The live AV performance (visible in the video from 24:46 onward) features STATION ROSE performing a new audiovisual composition created specifically for this evening. This work demonstrates convincingly that, during this musical phase, STATION ROSE engaged with influences ranging from Impressionism and Techno to Minimalism, Psychedelia, and Free Jazz.

"Sit In /Out" LIVE A/V- performance at raum fuer kultur, Dresdner Bank Frankfurt, 2010
AV-Performance at a Frankfurt bank house - more than hot as a topic these days... Hard to imagine - STR was performing there & had occupied the groundfloor for 1 day nite in feb.2010 ... For the performance "Sit-In /Out" at the downtown bank-skyscraper Dresdner Bank, Elisa Rose created new hand made art pieces as elements of the installation & again recycled her worn tights - this time not as fabric (as done for recent exhibitions), but instead, for a new AV-composition, working with a microscope, discovering a black grid under microscopic circumstances. Gary Danner played, next to performing his latest experimental electronics, his trustworthy Rickenbacker 330 semi-acoustic and his fuzz pedal live in Frankfurt for the first time. camera : Ernst Stratmann, video-edit : Elisa Rose

"Gunafa Clubbing_Digital Quarter Century" AV/Performance at Kunsthalle Wien, immersive installation & A/V Performance for "What would Thomas Bernhard do"

As pioneers of digital culture, Elisa Rose and Gary Danner have been developing audiovisual art and live performances, electronic music and net art for the last twenty-five years. Station Rose’s “Gunafa Clubbing”, which began in 1988, was the first art form in the world in a club format. In it, Elisa Rose (images, internet) and Gary Danner (sound) connected electronic audiovisual art with the internet in a live performance. The first “Gunafa Clubbings” took place on from 1992 in Frankfurt am Main and on from 1989 in Vienna but also, for instance in San Francisco, Hamburg and Berlin. This was at a time when Techno, club culture, Projection Art and the World Wide Web was still in its infancy. To celebrate the digital quarter century (1988-2013), Station Rose will once again put on one of its legendary performances in the Kunsthalle Wien. (Kunsthalle Wien)
