On 11th of March 1988 STATION ROSE has been opened by Gary Danner & Elisa Rose at Margaretenstrasse 26. With the opening the artists transformed the Freihausviertel to an art district.
Station Rose/STR was the 1st open media lab in Vienna, a place for exhibitions, conferences and symposia, a meetingpoint for artists, musicians, philosophers, curators, writers and scientists. This open structure resulted in cooperations on diverse topics in various media.
STR was situated in Vienna´s 4th district, Margaretenstrasse 26.
STATION ROSE HAD THUS STARTED THIS SO LIVELY ART-BIOTOPE OF TODAY AS EARLY AS 1988.
