"GUNAFA reloaded" solo show at instant edition

"It was the aesthetics of Arab and Islamic culture with its mathematical, non-figurative patterns and ornament – in Arab music just as in visual art – that played an especially important role, because it directly correlated structurally with the patterns and abstract forms that were already present in the works of STATION ROSE. The obvious parallels between the forms of Arab art and the almost psychedelic aesthetics of computer music and images, created using algorithms and machines, were therefore an important area for research and experimentation by Rose and Danner during their time in Egypt."
